The Secret Child

He wondered alone
Eyes full of tears
Heart freshly broken
For the first in his years

Lost in his pain
Wanting a friend
Not picky at all
He cant see an end

She tells him its fine
Says she's taking the pill
She'll help him forget
He bends to her will

He forgets all about her
As weeks pass bye
His friend for a night
If asked he would lie

She comes to him stressed
She eats for another
His heart skips a beat
From him she's a mother

Thinking of how
To tell mom and dad
His mind races threw
The future he had

He cant take the guilt
Of running away
Leaving them both
Is just not the way

World collapsing
his mind runs wild
He cant take the thought
Of aborting the child

Then the thought comes
To erase all his woes
Just bury the girl
From her head to her toes

No one would know
She'd hardly be missed
None would suspect
They had so much as kissed

Later that night
Under cover of dark
He takes his love
For a walk in the park

She thinks all is well
As she squeezes his hand
Within the hour
She'll be part of the land

She looks at the night
Enjoys the view
Standing behind her
He's planed what to do

He readies a wire
He brought in his coat
A determined move
Brings it tight round her throat

No screams let out
No blood on the ground
He pulls all her teeth
To avoid being found

Tossed limply upright
In a deep narrow hole
Her body stands
But her eyes have no soul

Shallow grave atop her's
If hounds come sniffing
They'll find in her stead
A cat that was missing

A heavy weight lifts
From off of his heart
Free once again
As he was at the start

Weeks then go by
With no trace found
He's all but forgotten
Who he put in the ground

No admission of wrong
No guilt even mild
He did not run
Or abort the child

Just as he wants
No less and no more
His life is as free
As it once was before
